Before you play

Each turn, draw a card automatically, then play one of your two cards and carry out its effect. Stay in the round and finish with the highest card, or be the last player left, to earn a token. Ties use the total of discarded card ranks; a further tie gives each tied player a token.

With two players, three extra cards are set aside face up and the first to 7 tokens wins. With three players, play to 5 tokens; with four, play to 4. One card is always reserved face down. Optional computer players fill empty seats to make four players.

Card reference and special rules
1. Guard — 5 cards
Guess another unprotected player’s card, except Guard. A correct guess eliminates them.
2. Priest — 2 cards
Privately see another unprotected player’s card.
3. Baron — 2 cards
Privately compare your remaining card with another unprotected player’s card. The lower card loses; ties do nothing.
4. Handmaid — 2 cards
Protect yourself from other players’ card effects until your next turn.
5. Prince — 2 cards
Choose yourself or another unprotected player to discard their card and draw a replacement. Discard effects are ignored except the Princess. Use the face-down reserve if the draw pile is empty.
6. King — 1 card
Swap your remaining card with another unprotected player.
7. Countess — 1 card
You must play her if your other card is King or Prince. Otherwise she has no effect.
8. Princess — 1 card
Playing or discarding her eliminates you.

If no other player can be targeted, Guard, Priest, Baron and King do nothing; Prince must target yourself. When the deck runs out, finish the current turn, then compare remaining hands. The previous winner starts the next round; the first seated tied winner starts after a tie.

Controls, privacy and reconnecting

Use Tab to move, arrow keys to select a card or option, and Enter or Space to activate buttons. Moves from other players update automatically. Your hand and private notes are only sent to your own browser. Surviving hands are revealed at the end of a round.

There are no turn timers. The host starts the match and each new round. Computer turns, if enabled, happen automatically. Players cannot join after the match starts. Share your room link privately; anyone with it can join before the start.

This browser remembers your seat so you can refresh or return using the same room link. Do not clear site data while playing. If someone disconnects, the game waits for them to return. Rooms expire after 24 hours without activity. There is no public matchmaking or chat.
